Subcarrier Acquires Two Indianapolis Broadcast Towers from Emmis for $7M. Subcarrier Communications, a New Jersey-based corporation, announced yesterday that it has closed on the $7 million purchase of two high-capacity broadcast towers each located in Indianapolis, IN, from Emmis Communications Corporation.
The transaction adds a 995 foot guyed tower due east of the city, and a 698 foot guyed tower due south of the city, to Subcarrier’s portfolio of 1,200 communications sites. The towers are expected to provide cellular and broadcasting coverage to the high growth Indianapolis metro area. Emmis will continue to operate its three FM stations (WLHK, WIBC, and WYXB) from these tower locations as well. Strategic Tower Advisors, LLC of Colorado served as the transaction advisor in the sale.
This marks the second transaction between Emmis and Subcarrier, with the first taking place in 2018, for the acquisition of two broadcast towers in the St. Louis market. “These two acquisitions demonstrate Subcarrier’s established role in the broadcast and PCS sectors as well as its continued growth and scale in the U.S. tower market. Our customers will continue to benefit from the high-quality portfolio of strategic sites located across the country,” said John Paleski, Subcarrier’s company president.
